54 HOLE PAIRS BETTERBALL STABLEFORD

We were pleased to introduce a new Links Cup Pairs event to our fixtures back in 2021, and the event exceeded all expectations. So much so, we now head back to the Angus region on the East coast of Scotland every summer.

This 54 hole event takes in a trio of outstanding Scottish links – Montrose, Panmure and Monifieth – and our competitors will play alongside their partner counting their Betterball score on each hole, with both daily and overall prizes up for grabs.

Current Champions – Kevin & Debbie Hudson (The Oxfordshire)

ENTRY FEE £595 PER PAIR

THE EVENT

WEDNESDAY 28 AUGUST
MONTROSE

With records showing that golf has been played here since 1562, Montrose is recognised as the 5th oldest course in the world. Golfers must do their best to cope with the undulating fairways, firm fast greens and deep bunkers during the round if they want to score well. This enjoyable challenge is made all the more testing when the wind blows in off the sea.

THURSDAY 29 AUGUST
PANMURE

Established in 1845, Panmure’s place in the golfing annals was further cemented when the legendary Ben Hogan chose to practice here ahead of his famous Open victory at Carnoustie in 1953. Always presented in excellent condition, the course offers first class links golf and will definitely prove very popular with our Links Cup Pairs competitors.

FRIDAY 30 AUGUST
MONIFIETH MEDAL

Monifieth, having regularly been used as an Open Qualifying venue, is no stranger to important events. It was here that now honorary Life Member Tom Watson got his first taste of links golf when he visited ahead of the 1975 Open which he went on to win. The course is laid out over prime links land, with gorse covered dunes and tall trees lining many of the fairways.
