A new 36-hole Links Golf Salver for 2026 will see us head to the Fife coast, just a few miles south of St Andrews, to visit Dumbarnie Links and Crail Golfing Society – an intriguing combination of the new and the old.

Dumbarnie Links will host Round 1, and our competitors will do battle over one of the finest modern layouts in Scotland. We then make the short journey to the historic Crail Golfing Society for day 2, and the stunning Balcomie course with its incredible sea views to enjoy throughout the round.

DUMBARNIE LINKS

Round one tees off at the Clive Clark-designed Dumbarnie Links – one of Scotland’s newest layouts and one that has become one of the UK’s must plays. With clever undulations, stunning views and holes that make you think, it is a course that has it all. Dumbarnie’s rapid rise was underlined when it played host to the Women’s Scottish Open just one year after opening.

CRAIL BALCOMIE

Golf has been played at the Balcomie Links of the Crail Golfing Society for centuries. The first 9 holes were originally laid out by Old Tom Morris back in 1895, before another 9 were added in 1900. It is now one of Scotland’s most loved golf experiences – with stone walls, humps and hollows, shared greens and bunker faces clad in railway sleepers, it is easy to see why.

The Rules

> All competitors will play each of the two courses during the competition.
> The event is a 36 hole Stableford competition, and the player with the highest total score after two rounds will be declared the winner.
> Each round will be qualifying for handicap purposes.
> Prizes will be presented following Round 2 – any prize winners not in attendance must contact the organisers to claim their prize, and will be liable for any costs incurred in sending their prize to them.
> The event organisers reserve the right to amend the format of the competition should the number of entrants or weather conditions dictate.
> All entrants must be amateurs and members of recognised golf clubs, and hold an active or competitive handicap.
> Overseas entrants must provide proof of their exact handicap.
> CDH numbers or handicap certificates must be provided before the start of the event.
> Entrants must be over the age of 18 on the date of the first round.
Maximum handicap to play is 24 – 95% allowance is given, with any mixed tee adjustments factored in.
> A draw will be produced for each days play, and the event will be played in 4 balls.
> Should any entrant wish to withdraw from the event, a full refund (less any charges incurred) will be guaranteed up until 2 months before the start date of the event. Withdrawals after this date will receive 50% of their entry fee, unless a replacement can be found.
