Golf has been played over the Balcomie Links at Crail Golfing Society for centuries. The first 9 holes were originally laid out by Old Tom Morris back in 1895, before another 9 were added in 1900. It is now one of Scotland’s most loved golf experiences – with stone walls, humps and hollows, shared greens and bunker faces clad in railway sleepers, it is easy to see why.
Perched on the rugged eastern tip of the Kingdom of Fife, this is links golf in its purest, most visceral form. From the opening tee shot past the iconic 1884 lifeboat shed to the carries over the rocky shoreline at ‘Hell’s Hole’.
The course is structured with a par-69 layout featuring six par-3s and back-to-back par-5s. The sea is your constant companion during the round, visible from every single hole.
Play the Balcomie Course as part of our Mixed Pairs Cup St Andrews.
