Our mixed pairs events in Southport and Ayrshire have proved extremely successful so we are delighted to introduce a third event next year. In conjunction with our friends at the magnificent Old Course Hotel we will be staging the Mixed Pairs Cup in May 2021.
The event will begin with our pairs taking on the Castle Course at St Andrews, before moving on to the Championship course at Carnoustie – home to eight Open Championships most recently in 2018 when Francesco Molinari lifted the Claret Jug. Our competitors will then play the final round at the Duke’s. 2 nights’ accommodation at the Old Course Hotel is also included in the entry package, making this a first class trip in every respect.
The Castle Course is perched on a rugged cliff-top, allowing golfers to enjoy spectacular views of St Andrews Bay and out to the North Sea. This is where breath-taking scenery and top class golf combine to provide a truly memorable experience. How will our golfers fare at the signature 17th hole, which is a stunning par 3 played across a ravine?
Round two tees off on the Championship Course at Carnoustie, widely regarded as one of the world’s finest links having played host to eight Open Championships, one Women’s British Open and two Seniors Opens, as well as the annual Dunhill Links. In 2018, the course was voted Best Golf Course in Scotland over £100 for the second time in three years.
Originally designed by five times Open champion Peter Thompson, and a couple of miles inland from the town of St Andrews, the Dukes opened for play in 1995. The course is known to provide a fair test of golf, with no blind shots, bunkers in exactly the right position to pose golfers a question, very well managed rough and undulating but true greens.
This event is being staged in conjunction with the Old Course Hotel, St Andrews. The entry fee includes two nights’ accommodation at this very special hotel – rated as one of the best golf resorts in the world.
