CASTLE STUART

HIGHLANDS

A magnificent test of golf situated on the banks of the stunning Moray Firth, just the length of a strong par 5 from Inverness Airport, Castle Stuart is a course that should be played by all keen golfers at least once in their lifetime.

The course’s clever design means it is very playable for golfers of all ages and abilities. The fairways are often forgiving, but golfers must hit the right part of them to give a more favourable approach to the greens. After one of his early visits, Phil Mickelson commented ‘it should almost be a prerequisite to play Castle Stuart before you’re allowed to design golf courses nowadays’.

Golfers are treated to so many wow moments during the round – on both 9s, the starting few holes played down next to the shore are fine examples. Having said that, the inland holes on the top level are also fantastic, and what they lack in proximity to the water they more than make up for in views.

Despite being relatively new, the intriguing layout and amazing views have made an immediate impact on the golfing world – receiving plenty of acclaim and staging a number of recent Scottish Opens. A round at Castle Stuart will live with you forever.
